What are the basics of the Constellation?
The posts linked from the Master Page will tell you the crucial information regarding the Constellation's nature, its missions, how to join, and more!
How can a character contact the Constellation? Is there a specific Network filter on
maskormenace?
You can privately contact Constellation members through this post, which does not count for Activity Check. No team-specific Network filter is permitted, according to the rules of the game. The Contact post is set up to be encrypted and untraceable.
How can my character join the Stars?
Details on Star promotion are available here!
What is there for my character to do in the Constellation outside of large plots?
All characters are welcome to busy themselves with the 'Mischief' prompts described here in-between more ambitious schemes! And you are always welcome to bring forward any ideas or suggestions you might have. The Constellation exists to enable other villainous plotting in return for assistance toward its larger goals!
What about those larger goals? They're not actually going to take control of the Porter or the nanites, are they?
No- at least, not in the permanent, revolutionary sense they aspire toward. The central mechanics of the game's setting and premise are off-limits to villainous tampering. That doesn't mean that the Constellation can't cause a lot of trouble in making an effort, or create more temporary disruptions as part of their master plan!
What happens if a member character wants to leave the group?
Officially, members are free to leave if they wish so long as they continue to abide by the first rule: don't talk about the Constellation. Breaking the first rule risks serious consequences! Unofficially, members who have vital powers and assets for the group's plans may find themselves under heavy pressure to remain involved if they try to back out. The Constellation may keep tabs on former members to ensure they are behaving. This will always be discussed OOCly with relevant players beforehand.
How much do the Constellation's members know about its dark side and criminal activities?
It depends on whether a member is a Planet or a Satellite! Satellite's are 'affiliate' members who are on the fringe of the group, so they get less information and more plausible deniability. A Planet is a full member, and you can assume they're aware that the Constellation engages in assorted criminal activity to both sustain itself and advance its agenda. And for outsiders, of course, they don't know the Constellation exists (yet)!
It should also be noted that the 'darkness level' of the organization is kind of flexible depending on who ends up joining. If more well-meaning anti-heroes join, the leaders of the group will have to dial back the murder in their plans to avoid losing valuable members. If the group ends up comprised of more serial killers, that will be reflected in its activities.
How much do participating characters ICly know about the Constellations' membership?
Originally, the membership was almost completely secret. However, as of June 2017 a change has been made to strike a new balance between team security and networking opportunities. Each member of the Constellation can view a roster of CODENAMED members on the team's secret communications network, with minimal information on their class and role in the organization. For example, a new member would be able to see that 'Antares' is a Star who specializes in politics or that 'Poltergeist' is a Planet who specializes in infiltration, but no details about their powers and identity. These are one-word descriptors, like 'investigator' or 'scientist.'
What kind of resources does the Constellation have? Can my character get paid for joining?
Details on Constellation resources and pay scale are available on the EXTRAS page!
Can I get involved with the Constellation's plots without my character being a member?
Absolutely! While the Constellation is a very secretive group, they are open to allying with or employing imPorts outside of their circle in order to grow their power and advance their agenda. And the group is also open to being investigated and combated in plotting with heroic characters or rival villains, so long as the team itself is not destroyed before the conclusion of its arc!
Wow, there's a lot going on with this arc! Is there a way to keep track of what's happening?
A plotting table is available on Google Docs! Feel free to add your character into it if they are involved with the Constellation's activities or are opposing them.
I have another question!
Feel free to ask here, or to contact one of the players of the Stars! The team also has a dedicated contact plurk at
